The Application is a devotional app that enables users to listen to prayers (prarthanas), set daily upasana reminders/alarms, and manage devotional media downloads.

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address). The app can be used completely without creating an account or logging in.

Non-Personal and Technical Information

The Application may collect non-personal configuration and usage data to ensure smooth operations:

  • •Local Settings: Preferences such as daily upasana times, notification toggle states, and preferred language are stored locally on your device using local storage (SharedPreferences).
  • •Network Requests: The app communicates with our backend APIs (hosted securely) to fetch the list of available prarthanas and download devotional audio files. These requests do not transmit personal user identifier data.

Device Permissions Required by the App

To provide alarm reminders and media playback functionalities, the Application requires the following standard Android permissions:

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED & WAKE_LOCK

Allows the app to reschedule your configured daily upasana reminders automatically after you restart your device.

SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM & USE_EXACT_ALARM

Necessary to trigger the devotional upasana reminders precisely at the time you configured.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Required to display notifications when an alarm triggers or during audio playback.

USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT & SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW

Used to display a prominent reminder screen when your upasana alarm rings, even if the device is locked or another app is open.

REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS

Helps prevent the Android system from suspending the reminder service, ensuring you receive your daily alarms reliably.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK

Enables continuous, uninterrupted playback of devotional audio tracks (prarthanas) in the background while you use other apps or when your screen is turned off.

Third-Party Services

We utilize trusted third-party cloud infrastructure to deliver devotional content:

Database (MongoDB Atlas)

Used to store metadata about available prarthanas.

Storage (Backblaze B2)

Used to host the devotional audio files.

Hosting (Vercel)

Used to host the secure backend API.

These services do not have access to any personal information, as no personal information is collected by the app.

Children's Privacy

Our Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take the necessary actions.

Security

We value your trust. Since we do not collect any personal information, there is no risk of personal data breach. Any network requests made by the app use standard industry-standard HTTPS encryption.
